Never have I felt such bliss
As when winter wind swept you away
Though I longed for you to stay
And my heart, in turn, would fray
Fare thee well!
And begone 'till May
When flowers wake
For a honeybee's kiss
And life returns to warmth
While this love employs death's knell
For you shall never be
The one I'll miss

It's been more than a year since I wrote this piece, yet its significance has connected much more with recent events than the events it was originally attached to. Pretty neat how that can happen.
